National Association of Minority Contractors
National Association of Minority Contractors (NAMC) is a national non-profit trade association whose headquarters is located in Metropolitan Washington, D.C. area. This organization has a large number of local chapters located all over the US. Since 1969, it is the NAMC’s goal to help minority contractors gain visibility in the industry. It promotes the economic and legal interests of minority contracting firms. By means of education and advocacy, the organization reduces and removes the barriers so that wider procurement and increased business opportunities will be enjoyed by its members and by the minority contractors everywhere. NAMC creates a forum for information sharing and mutual support. Although membership is open to all races, the organization’s focus is directed mainly to the concerns of African Americans, Asian Americans, Hispanic Americans and Native Americans. The organization’s mandate is “Building Bridges-Crossing Barrier.” Its 3-Part National Mission include on-going education and capacity building for members, advocacy related to member issues and procurement and business opportunities for members.
